Timy Fairfield will be offering the following six Clinics and Training Camps in October in the Michigan, New Mexico and Arizona areas. See below for more details on the specific camps.

October 3-5 Planet Rock Youth Training Camp – Ann Arbor, MI
Timy Fairfield, will be conducting an open 2-day Midwest Regional youth performance training camp at Ann Arbor, MI Planet Rock Climbing Gym. The emphasis of this camp is youth team gym climbing/training techniques and competition strategies in preparation for the ’08/’09 ABS Bouldering Season.
Syllabus:
Gym Climbing, warm-up techniques, injury prevention, bio-mechanics, fundamentals of sport specific strength training, competition mental tactics, bouldering competition strategy, speed drills, movement techniques & skills, sport-specific power endurance fitness training, Heart Rate training, cross- training, video analysis, motivation as well helping young athletes achieve a higher level of performance through greater focus and creative training.
A peer-elected “MVP” athlete will receive a gear prize and be featured on www.timyfairfield.com following the camp. Timy’s sponsors will be providing gear prizes for the event. This camp is open to youth team athletes (12yrs+) from the Detroit metro area as well as the greater Midwest region.

“Improve your climbing skills to take your performance to the next level.” Timy Fairfield in collaboration with Brandi Proffitt will be offering a 2-day outdoor “Adult Sport Climbing Clinic” at the Enchanted Tower – Datil, NM.

Oct 22 ’08 PRG Routesetting Workshop
Timy Fairfield will be offering a routesetting workshop at the Phoenix Rock Gym in Tempe, AZ on Wednesday, October 22.
Pre-requisites:
Interested in learning methods for creating unique movement in diverse styles. Able to give and receive constructive criticism. View artificial climbing as a choreographic art medium. Interested in exploring esoteric genres of movement, improving overall quality of route setting for service-related commercial, recreational, training and competition applications.
Level I:
Open to beg/intermediate climbing ability levels V0-V6, 2yrs climbing experience, no route setting experience necessary, climbing regularly in gym and on rock. For volunteer/assistant route setters seeking to increase quality of intro level problems for recreational and tutorial purposes.
Level II:
Open to ability levels V7, 3+yrs climbing experience, 1 year formal route setting experience, advanced/paid professional route setters seeking to hone their skills to set for competition and manage other route setters.
General topics to be covered: Route setting as a primary commercial gym service. Setting for recreational use vs. competition. Route setting as a means of teaching gym members. Forerunning Techniques, troubleshooting, problem solving. Hitting the grade, grade refinement. Fabrication of custom features, hold modification Route marking, mapping, replication for competition. Facility Scheduling, route rotation. Global Setting vs. Local Setting Climbing choreography as a gymnastic/acrobatic medium.
