 Rock Junior 2009: the European Youth Climbing Festival at Arco
The 8th Rock Junior will take place at Arco (Garda Trentino, Italy) on Saturday and Sunday, June 6-7, 2009. This great European climbing festival for young climbers is organised for the 8th year running by the Rock Master association.  The 2009 TEVA MOUNTAIN GAMES
The Vail Valley Foundation is proud to announce that the 8th annual Teva Mountain Games, the nation’s premiere outdoor adventure event, will take place June 4 – 7, 2009 in Vail, Colorado. In addition to our amateur climbing competitions, the IFSC Bouldering World Cup will be hosted once again at the 2009 Teva Mountain Games! The Foundation also announced the addition of a new half marathon within the mountain running portion of the games.  California Premiere of Rocky Mountain Highball - June 4, 2009
On June 4th, Scott Neel (the director) and Marmot Athlete Kevin Jorgeson will be hosting the California Premiere of Rocky Mountain Highball at the Rialto Theatre in Berkeley. This event is produced by the Yama Studio is presented by the American Alpine Club, Climbing Magazine, Urban Climber, Vertex Climbing Center, Marmot, and Berkeley's Marmot Mountain Works.  2009 Kalymnos Rock Climbing Festival
The Kalymnos Rock Climbing Festival, celebrating the enchanting rocks of Kalymnos, Greece, took place on the island for the fourth time on May 22-26 2009. More than 300 climbers from around the world participated (84 Greeks, 50 Germans, 28 Swedes, 28 Swiss, 26 Austrians, 16 Italians, 13 Spaniards, 12 Americans and individuals from 15 more countries). On Saturday, April 25th, 2009, MetroRock’s towering walls teemed with climbers of all abilities crimping and pinching their way to the finish of 17 routes in a day. Any particular reason? While climbing is generally regarded as a selfish endeavor due to the fact that it usually benefits the mere individual pursuing it, MetroRock turned the tables by giving local climbers a chance to push themselves for a greater cause. On May 29th, 2009, Chattanooga's Urban Rocks Gym will be hosting a bouldering competition and fundraiser for the Southeastern Climbers Coalition's purchase of Steele, Alabama. The International Kalymnos Climbing Festival will be held on May 22-26, 2009, on the scenic and tranquil island of Kalymnos, Greece. The event will be organized by the Municipality of Kalymnos. Climbers of all abilities and from all countries are welcome to attend the event.  Melloblocco 2009
On May 7-10, (Thursday through Sunday), 2009, over 2100 registered climbers and more than 5000 visitors gathered for the sixth annual Melloblocco, or "bouldering game", at the most famous international bouldering meeting in the world, Val di Mello (Val Masino - Sondrio), Italy. Last Monday, April 27th, 2009, was the first public screening of Rocky Mountain Highball. It was an incredible evening for all of us involved and for the Colorado bouldering community as a whole.
