Events New River Rendezvous Dispatch
The Burnwood (not Burning Man, dude) tent city has sprung to life once again, on therim of the East's most dramatic river gorge, for the 4th annual New River Rendezvous. Weather is breezy and cool, with continuing chance of uncertainty forecast for festival weekend.
 
The 13th Annual International Climbers' Festival
The 13th Annual International Climbers' Festival will be held July 5th through the 9th featuring slideshows, clinics, trade fair, parties and of course world-class climbing. This year we are very excited to host Patagonia Ambassador SonnieTrotter as our keynote presenter.
 
3rd annual Butte Bouldering Bonanza
The Butte Bouldering Bonanza will be back once again this year with good energy, new events, and a challenge for every climber that visits. Held at the Skyland boulders in the friendly little village of Crested Butte this event is grassroots, organized by climbers who love to see the climbing community come together.
 
Crack Yourself Up at Splitter Camp
This climbing season, join renowned instructors and hone your skills at Splitter Camp: three-day intensive crack climbing seminars offered this spring and fall in Indian Creek, Utah. Splitter Camp offers six sessions, with three spring and three fall seminars. Success of last years’ events has lead to an increased number of camps this year; sign-ups are already filling, so register early.

2006 Teva Mountain Games
Vail, CO, May 31 - June 4, 2006- TMG represents the nation’s largest venue for a bouldering competition, with 28,000 spectators expected throughout the weekend.The largest prize purse for any climbing competition in the US with a combined cash purse of $16,000 distributed to winners of the difficulty bouldering, speed bouldering, and freestyle dyno divisions.
 
2006 Hueco Rock Rodeo
The Hueco Rock Rodeo, Februrary 25, is the by far the loudest, sickest, and most raging outdoor bouldering competition in the nation. It's the one day a year where large groups are allowed to roam almost unchecked in the best boulder fields of North America: Hueco Tanks State Historical Site, Texas.
 
Festiglace 2006
February 17-19, 2006 - The ninth-annual Festiglace du Québec ice-climbing festival presented by The North Face. This year, Canada's largest ice festival includes exciting competitions, product demos, and guest speakers. Climbing's Jeff Achey is providing Live updates from Festiglace.

2/17/06 - As ice climbers converge from around the world on the famed Festiglace, held just south of Quebec city, Mother Nature has prepared an alpine welcome. Blizzards and other weather obstacles clog many of the Midwestern and Northeastern travel hubs, and here, outside our traveling headquarters at the Gite a Emilie in Neuville, snow is blowing sideways across the ice-choked St. Laurence River ... which is a welcome change from this morning's sleet.
 
Triple Crown Bouldering Series
Jim Horton and Chad Wykle once again have brought to the Southeast the biggest and badest outdoor bouldering competitions, the Triple Crown Bouldering Series. Hound Ears - October 1st, 2005, Horse Pens 40th - November 5th, 2005, and Little Rock City - January 7th, 2006. These extremely intense competitions provide climbers with anywhere from six to eight hours to climb the 10 hardest problems their body will allow.
 
Houndears Triple Crown Bouldering Series
10/01/05 - Houndears, the first of the Southeastern Bouldering Series Triple Crown, took place above the million-dollar gated community of the Houndears Golf Club outside Boone, North Carolina.
 
2005 Horsetooth Hang Bouldering Festival
10/23/05 - After four long years, the Neptune Mountaineering Horsetooth Hang Bouldering Festival is back and here to stay. On October 23rd, 160 climbers and volunteers from all over Colorado came together for a spectacular day of festivities and fun at Horsetooth Reservoir near Fort Collins.
 
2nd Annual Butte Bouldering Bonanza
8/1/05 - This past weekend the 2nd Annual Butte Bouldering Bonanza took place in Crested Butte, Colorado. While still a young event, there was no lack of enthusiasm and we had a blast checking it out.

6/24/05 - 6/26/05 - This gathering, the third event of its kind in North America, brings some of world's best climbers and the climbing public together to celebrate climbing in a fun, laid-back atmosphere while raising money for local climbing area conservation efforts.

We couldn't get enough of DJ LaFouche's music on Saturday night! With the help of Sahid Belhaj on Flute/Triangle/Bongos, Timmy O'Neill on Bongos and Guillaume Broust on the video deck, LaFouche kept people in rhythm and on the floor until we closed The Howe Sound Brewery & Inn down about 2AM.
