During the final part of this action of ours the Sad Smoky Mountains will be meeting the Cities. The Urban Climbers, “city mountaineers” moment has come! In togetherness with mountains, in togetherness with the hills we will be kindling the hearts of our cities and their inhabitants employing the same red color used afore by returning to the origin of those columns of smoke chosen to be used as a symbol, an invariable symbol of this work of art.
 
Bloqueando Bouldering Competition – Challcupuncu, Bolivia 2008

It's more of a gathering of participants rather than a competition with mostly Bolivian's but also some French, English, German and Mexican climbers who measured their skills and strengths over the weekend on some magic volcanic boulders.
 
Trad/Mental 3-Day Camp – Vedauwoo, WY - 2008
This climbing training camp is specifically targeted to those climbers who want to learn traditional climbing and gain a heightened degree of mental focus through applying the Warrior's Way program in a trad setting. August 4-6, Vedauwoo, WY
 
Tout A Blocs - 2008
On July 30 - August 2, 2008 the biggest bouldering event in France — the Tout A Blocs (TAB) — will be kicking off in the town of l'Argentière la bessée and on the beautiful granite boulders of Ailefroide, France. The competion includes an outdoor international bouldering contest where three hundred climbers competed last year.
 
Extremity Games 2008 Recap
The place looks like a bomb went off. Legs and arms are strewn all over the floor. Sounds grim, but in all actuality, it’s really cool. I’m standing in the middle of the 2008 Extremity Games climbing competition, hosted at Planet Rock in Pontiac, Michigan on Friday July 25th, and things are looking good.

2008 Squamish Mountain Festival
The SQUMF is getting ready to thrill locals and visitors again this summer with an exciting mix of films, clinics, competitions and guest speakers: Dave MacLeod, Ed Cooper, Matt Maddaloni, Majka Burhardt, Sonnie Trotter, Micah Dash and Cedar Wright. The festival takes place at various locations around Squamish, BC from July 16 to 20.

The East Coast Premiere of Dosage V from Big Up Productions is being held at The Rock Club on Thursday July 10 at 8pm. It will be the only screening of the movie on the east coast, so this will be your one chance to catch it on a big screen.
 
The Fifteenth Annual International Climbers' Festival
The ICF is an annual event that began 15 years ago with the mission of promoting and celebrating the sport of rock climbing. The 2008 Festival will be held this July 9th - 13th in Lander, Wyoming.
 
Céüse, France Climber Clean-up
UPDATE - 7/08/08 - Céüse is clean! A climber clean up weekend has been planned July 5 and 6, 2008 to maintain a good relationship between the Céüse locals and climbers. Céüse is one of the most well know cliffs for sport climbing in the world but due to it's popularity there are new problems to solve.
 
Environmental Stewardship Adventure Days
Clean trails at local crags Crescent Rock July 5 and Elizabeth's Furnace on September 6 in the morning then go rock climbing in the afternoon on us! The programs are open to all adventurers over 8 years old and we encourage families to come together and volunteer.

Girls Education International's Fundraiser at the Hangar Restaurant in Estes Park
On Thursday, June 26, from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., the Hangar Restaurant in Estes Park is hosting a benefit for Girls Education International, a nonprofit organization founded by North Face athlete Heidi Wirtz and writer Lizzy Scully. The fundraiser will feature tunes by local musician Justin Faye and a slide show by author and mountaineer Pete Takeda.
 
Hong Kong Climbing Competition Recap
The very best of Hong Kong's homegrown climbers showed up to battle it out at the 51st Festival of Sport – Hong Kong Youth Sport Climbing Championship & Open Ranking Competition on June 8th 2008. Foul weather conditions halted the championships in the morning, but it cleared quickly allowing climbers and spectators alike to enjoy the fantastic display of climbing prowess.
 
Bradford Washburn American Mountaineering Museum Hosts "Views of the Himalaya" Event
Mountain to Mountain, a Breckenridge-based organization dedicated to promoting education and community development in remote mountain communities, along with the Bradford Washburn American Mountaineering Museum, will open the “Views of the Himalaya” event on June 11, 2008.

Award Winning Blindsight Documentary Premieres in Boulder June 10-11
Join Global Explorers, Erik Weihenmayer and other cast members for the Boulder Theater premiere of the award-winning documentary film called Blindsight. The two night showing begins at 8PM on June 10th and June 11th. Erik Weihenmayer, the only blind person to summit Mt. Everest, will introduce the film on the 10th following a red carpet VIP event at Q's Restaurant from 5-8PM.
