Events Triple Crown 2006 Stone Fort Recap
The enthusiastic rock-fondling horde was efficiently whisked up the mountain to the Montlake Golf Course in a line of Big Yellow Buses, and the competition started the moment everyone stepped off. A line of pads with legs strolled the 100 yards down the hill to branch out and wander among the melted marshmallows of grey stone, each offering its own intriguing arrangement of shapes and angles.

The Hound Ears Bouldering Competition is staged annually in Boone, NC, deep in Blue Ridge Mountains. This outdoor event, the first in the Triple Crown Bouldering Series (www.triplecrownbouldering.org) has the unique quality of being held in a boulderfield at the top of a gated community, accessible only on this one day every year.
 
2006 Rifle Clean-up Recap
September 30, 2006 - It is a long-standing tradition here at Climbing to aid in keeping Rifle Mountain Park clean for climbers and our combined public perception. Every year at the end of September we host the annual Rifle clean-up, during which climbers are invited to help clean the park and later enjoy a BBQ and party courtesy of Climbing. In the past the clean-up has consisted of picking up trash and pulling weeds.  This year we had bigger plans! View the Gallery by Devaki Murch
 
Triple Crown Bouldering Series 2006
Triple Crown is a series of bouldering events at three of the premier boulderfields in the Southeast: Hound Ears in Boone, NC on October 7th, Horse Pens-40 in Steele, AL on November 4th, and The Stone Fort (formerly known as Little Rock City) in Chattanooga, TN on December 2nd.
 
2006 Neptune Mountaineering Horsetooth Hang
October 14th, 2006—Fort Collins, Co: The 2006 Neptune Mountaineering Horsetooth Hang is going to be the best festival so far.  For those unfamiliar with the event, the “Hang” as it is commonly known is a non-profit bouldering festival and trash clean-up that takes place at the world famous boulders of Horsetooth Reservoir.
 
Bouldering by the Wildflowers - 2006 Crested Butte Bouldering Bonanza Recap
Crested Butte, Colorado (8,885 feet) is a small ski town, National Historic District, and wildflower capital. When the ski lifts shut down for the season and the ski tourists go home, a population of 1,550 artists, cowboys, and adventurers who see the Butte as a recreational paradise remain.

2007 Red Rock Rendezvous
Las Vegas, NV - The fourth annual "Mountain Gear Presents: Red Rock Rendezvous" rock climbing festival will return to the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area near Las Vegas on March 23-25, 2007 to benefit The Access Fund and other local and national non profit organizations.
 
The Reel Rock Film Tour Spins in Carbondale Colorado
Carbondale, CO – August 21, 2006 –Climbing Magazine presents the Reel Rock Film Tour as a benefit for the HERA Women’s Cancer Foundation, a volunteer organization dedicated to raising money and awareness for ovarian cancer research and awareness programs.

7/28/06- 7/30/06 - The Butte Bouldering Bonanza. Have you heard of it? Are you interested in checking it out? Well let me try and paint a mental picture of what I think it might be like There's still some snow in the mountains here, but its only a memory at the Skyland Boulders where the Bonanza's competition is held.

June 15, 2006 - Joshua Tree, CA: Environmental group, Friends of Joshua Tree, will host the 10th annual Climb Smart event at Indian Cove group campground, October 27-29, 2006 in Joshua Tree National Park.

2006 Teva Mountain Games
Vail, CO, May 31 - June 4, 2006- TMG represents the nation’s largest venue for a bouldering competition, with 28,000 spectators expected throughout the weekend.The largest prize purse for any climbing competition in the US with a combined cash purse of $16,000 distributed to winners of the difficulty bouldering, speed bouldering, and freestyle dyno divisions.
 
2006 Hueco Rock Rodeo
The Hueco Rock Rodeo, Februrary 25, is the by far the loudest, sickest, and most raging outdoor bouldering competition in the nation. It's the one day a year where large groups are allowed to roam almost unchecked in the best boulder fields of North America: Hueco Tanks State Historical Site, Texas.
 
Festiglace 2006
February 17-19, 2006 - The ninth-annual Festiglace du Québec ice-climbing festival presented by The North Face. This year, Canada's largest ice festival includes exciting competitions, product demos, and guest speakers. Climbing's Jeff Achey is providing Live updates from Festiglace.
