The ninth-annual Festiglace du Québec ice-climbing festival presented by The North Face will occur at the Jacques-Cartier River climbing area on February 17-19, 2006. This year, Canada’s largest ice festival includes exciting competitions, product demos, and guest speakers.

Ice climbing masters Mark Synnott, Maxime Turgeon, Louis-Philippe Ménard, Abby Watkins, and Pete Athans will be giving lectures throughout the event. Evgeny Krivosheitcev, the champion Ukrainian ice climber, will be returning this year to defend his previous victories in the speed and team competitons.

No matter what your skill level, Festiglace has clinics and workshops taught by the experts that will help refine your skill set. Check out the event’s wide variety of ice routes, snowshoe trails, and of course, the fabled Festiglace party. It will be an occasion to remember.
