The St. Paul Vertical Endeavors Climbing Gym will be kickin’ off its 15th Annual climbing competition, Passion for Flashin’, on Saturday, February 9th, 2008. This year we have added three new divisions (Under 12, Women’s Diva, and Men’s Geriatric) to make it one of the biggest darn competitions in the nation. The beginner, intermediate and open divisions will remain, as will the tradition of elite climbers gracing us with their presence. Last year’s women’s Open champion was Alex Johnson, recent winner of Mammut-EMS National Bouldering Championship. Each division will have 18 routes, and each competitor will have two attempts for each toprope climb, and five attempts for each boulder problem. Make sure to register early (before January 11th) to take advantage of the Early Bird Registration fee of only $25! Pre-Registration costs $30 and will end on January 25th. Registration at the door will cost $35. Vertical Endeavors will be closed for the competition. All newbie climbers and weekend warriors are encouraged to compete!
