It is a long-standing tradition here at Climbing Magazine to help in keeping Rifle Mountain Park clean for climbers and our combined public perception. Every year at the end of September we host the annual Rifle clean-up, during which climbers are invited to help clean the park and later enjoy a BBQ and party courtesy of Climbing.

In the past the clean-up has consisted of picking up trash and pulling weeds.  The 2006 Rifle Clean-up, to be held September 30th, will include trail maintenance around the canyon and cleaning of the new routes on the Canine Wall, a new area across from feline which includes eight bolted 5.10s. Climbing plans to continue its dedication to Rifle through further improvements to the canyon. If you share our appreciation of Rifle consider dedicating a half day on September 30th to improving the canyon and climbers relations with the city of Rifle.
