Family and friends of Pete Absolon, Howard Doyle, Charlie Fowler and Greg Smith, are gathering at Seneca Rocks 4 pm Saturday November 10, 2007 to celebrate their lives and place in the Seneca rock climbing community. People will gather at the old visitor's center site beneath the west face if the weather is good. In case of bad weather the Forest Service will allow the use of the new visitor's center. Beer, food and lots of memories to follow at the Gendarme.

The Seneca Rocks formation sits in a 100,000 acre wilderness — Spruce Knob-Seneca Rocks National Recreation Area (NRA) with the highest peak in West Virginia. Congress established the Spruce Knob-Seneca Rocks National Recreation Area in 1965.
