Climbing

The Nor'easter

By Jason Danforth / noreasterems.com

It's not just a concert and it's way more than rock climbing and camping. The Nor'easter powered by Eastern Mountain Sports is a weekend-long festival of music, sport, and conservation happening September 26-28, 2008 at Tenney Mountain in Plymouth, NH.

This three day, first-of-its-kind event will be highlighted by live music from headliners State Radio and Tapes 'n Tapes, as well as opening acts Rustic Overtones, Oneside, The Guts, Adam Ezra, The Dig, Three Tall Pines, Bomb Squad, and a late night after party hosted by Glue.

The Nor'easter will also feature a pro climbing competition at Rumney, and clinics with Chris Sharma, Joe Kinder, Dave Graham, Kevin Jorgeson, Tommy Caldwell, Lisa Rands, Daniel Woods, Emily Harrington, Cedar Wright, Lizzy Asher, Heidi Wirtz and more. There's also a screening of Josh Lowell's and Pete Mortimer's new adventure climbing films from the Reel Rock Film Tour, and a bio-diesel powered sponsor village full of conservation groups, local artisans, and the biggest names in the outdoor industry.

But conservation is the real cornerstone of the event. The Nor'easter powered by Eastern Mountain Sports will donate a portion of proceeds to the Conservation Alliance, and will host environmental clinics and lectures, green fueled shuttles, and local food, all while being 90%+ percent waste free thanks to waste management specialists Zero Hero.

Lastly, before you hit the road on Sunday, you'll have the opportunity to give something back to the environment in a very meaningful way. The festival ends with a volunteer conservation project at the nearby White Mountain National Forest where you can help preserve the natural beauty of one of New Hampshire's most popular destinations.

It's going to be an incredible weekend and we can't wait to see you there!
