Internship at Climbing Magazine

Climbing Magazine, based in Boulder, Colorado offers three to four editorial internship positions throughout the year; all are unpaid. As the leading vertical publication in the world market, Climbing offers the chance to develop a diverse skill set. Working in conjunction with the editorial, and production departments, interns will gain a perspective of the various facets of magazine publishing. The internships offer value through a variety of projects and plenty of trips out climbing.

Requirements for Editorial Internship
- Interns must be at least of sophomore standing
- Interns are responsible for finding/providing their own accommodations
- Offered for a duration of two to three months
- Flexible workload (could do 20 hours a week, if need to get a second, paying job)
Responsibilities:
- Assisting in the editing and writing of various magazine departments from Equipment to Hot Flashes to TechTips.
- Involved in workflow of magazine from concept development to drafts to layout to proofing bluelines
- Research and write the copy for the 2008 Day Planner and Wall Calendar
- Go to events with staff to represent Climbing
- Organize backstock of magazine issues
- Miscellaneous tasks around the office
Must be:
- Organized
- Majoring in relevant subject (e.g., Journalism, English)
- Willing to work hard for no pay
- Efficient
- Motivated
- Psyched on climbing!
