Outdoors, Hong Kong offers nearly 300 climbing routes and over 600 boulder problems, and this is just in a few select areas. With established crags getting increasingly crowded, there exists now the best possible incentive to explore the huge potential for development into the New Territories (Hong Kong's suburbs). It has been said that Hong Kong is probably the second best climbing destination in Asia, the foremost being Thailand's awesome Krabi.

To kick things off, we introduce our crown jewel, Tung Lung Island. The undisputed "King" of local crags, this island is accessible via a 30 minute ferry ride, and is home to possibly the highest concentration of quality sport climbs in Hong Kong. Anything from F4 to F8a (5.2 to 5.13b) can be had here amongst the four primary locations, namely the Technical Wall, Sea Gully, Big Wall and Kite Rock. In total, more than 100 sport routes were set up over the past decade, with fresh ones establishing periodically. Sparsely inhabited, large public ferries run only on weekends. To get there during the week, private fishing boats may be arranged to ferry you across.
