POSE TO THE PROS
QUESTION: WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PIECE OF CLIMBING GEAR YOU OWN AND USE?
Gabriel Moroni
Definitely my last pair of "old" FiveTen V10's. They're my "combat shoes" and I try to use them only when I have to send a hard project!
Stephan Siegrist
Anti-bacterial spray for my climbing shoes.
Nico Favresse
My mind. Having my mind set in a "right way" is more valuable than any protection I could use or own.
Boone Speed
My shoes. When traveling by air, I always carry-on my best pair of shoes. I figure if my luggage gets lost, I can replace everything else.
Pat Goodman
Hmm ... what could it be? I am really starting to think it is the #00 C3 from BD. My GriGri would probably come in after that. But, I suppose without a nice rope none of that stuff is useful. Or, could it be nuts ... yeah, that's it. Nuts.
Sonnie Trotter
My FiveTen Moc's. They are so comfy, and I use them almost every single day. Climbing cracks, slabs, or a fun day of bouldering. I've been doing a lot of soloing and bouldering, lately, so all I bring with me are shoes and a chalk bag.
Andy Raether
The stick clip for me often times can be my best friend. It always keeps me from decking, and always gets me through those tough times when I feel like nothing else will work and I just can't do it on my own. The stick clip has never let me down.
Michael Reardon
My Papua New Guinea Penis Pouch. It covers the frank yet leaves the beans to air out for enquiring minds who want to know — brass or titanium? I've also started to stamp it with little climber logos for every 5.10 or better that I've soloed with it on ... Seriously, I have a 21-inch Papua New Guinea Penis Pouch.
Jon Cardwell
When attempting a hard climb I really focus on foot work. I would have to say my shoes for sure.
Joe Kinder
That's my Scarpa Magos.
Ivo Ninov
My brain.
Josune Bereziartu
My best climbing gear is the prAna's clothes — especially the tops. I feel comfortable and is a kind of "fetiche." In addition to this my climbing shoes are also an important gear, of course.
Tommy Caldwell
My climbing shoes, Miuras. As long as I have my climbing shoes, I can climb something.
Beth Rodden
Tommy... but if I had to choose something that everyone has access to, it would be my Miuras, too.
Christian Core
In my opinion, the most important gear is climbing shoes. After these, the crashpads.
