Michael Reardon - Pro Blog 2

I didn't expect much as my sea level lungs gasped for air on the hike to the base, but after shoeing up and starting the climb, I entered into the moving meditation, where the physical and mental blend together and the emotions expand to their full breath. The view opened with each step until I reached the summit and watched the myriad colors of sunset spill across the plains.

The next day Matt and I went to Flagstaff for some bouldering where the Clydehound dug a pit halfway to the earth’s core, and I lost my tips on a sandbag tour of “easy classics”. One of these classics included the unrepeated AHR a.k.a. Another Holloway Route which has been sitting there for 30 years mocking any who attempt to follow in Jim Holloway’s gigantic footsteps. It’s not reachy, it’s not long, it is just that hard! It took everything I had to get off the ground, the rest of the moves remain in my imagination.
