11/03/09 - Red Rocks in Las Vegas, Nevada, was a new destination for us, and the scenery was spectacular! Our first day was spent in the Black Corridor. We were the first ones there, but as the day progressed, the corridor got REALLY crowded – we started to wonder if anyone in Vegas had real jobs, but upon talking to everyone, they were all from out of town too – everywhere from Alberta and Quebec to Colorado and California.

9/24/09 - A Weekend at the Red - In the few years that I’ve been climbing, I’ve had the opportunity to climb in lots of different places, but I’d never made it up to the Red River Gorge until this past weekend. Steve and I had tried to go several times, but due to weather, schedules, injuries, etc., it seems as though the stars were never quite in proper alignment to make it happen.

9/03/09 - Utah Canyoneering: Logan Canyon, Big Cottonwood Canyon and Maple Canyon - Every year, my husband and I try to plan a multi-day trip to a new area that we haven’t been to. This year, my husband’s parents decided to fly the whole family out to Yellowstone for a week of vacation. It was awesome – we rented a huge house in Montana, and spent a week wildlife watching, flyfishing, geyser stalking, and marveling at the fantastic scenery. When that trip was over my husband and I, being the opportunistic cheapskates that we are, decided to take advantage of the prepaid plane ticket to Salt Lake City, and get some climbing in.
