Ladies have an especially hard time, given the wide range (pun not intended) of our shapes and sizes. The Vertical Girl Signature Knicker ($40; verticalgirl.com) is the answer to our collective prayers. They’re sleek, soft, comfy as hell, and will make your butt look good—nobody will scoff at your butt-shot photos. The wide and high waistband is very slimming and makes sure you don’t flaunt all your goods. While I prefer the knicker length, Vertical Girl also makes a pant and a capri that rock the same qualities. High steps, heel hooks, and reachy edges during an early spring trip to Joe’s Valley, Utah, were easy as pie thanks to the stretchy 90 percent cotton and 10 percent Lycra fabric. Best part: they’re designed by a female climber and made in the U.S.A. —Julie Ellison
