Following last year’s inaugural event, the Second Annual Yangshuo Climbing Festival, hosted by The North Face and Black Diamond, will be held from November 13 to 15, 2009. Once again, the Festival will bring together local and international climbers in one of Asia’s top sport climbing locations. The weekend will include clinics taught by some of the world's best rock climbers - including young guns Alex Honnold (US) and Abond (China) - informative slide shows, a climbing treasure hunt, climbing videos, music, food, beer and socializing.

All registered participants will receive a free YSCF T-shirt, a Black Diamond Orbit Lantern, a Sea To Summit Ultralight Stuff Sack, a discount coupon towards the purchase of Vasque shoes, an Innate YSCF stainless steel water bottle, and a GSI Ultralight eating utensil. Participants will also receive prize giveaways throughout the weekend from the Festival sponsors, including The North Face and Black Diamond.

The Yangshuo Climbing Festival’s dual goals are to serve as an annual gathering for the climbing community throughout Mainland China and Asia and to preserve and promote rock climbing in Yangshuo. Consistent with last year, the YSCF organizers will donate all money raised via Festival entry fees to crag preservation and development projects plus those that encourage a long-term collaborative partnership between climbers and the local community.

Tickets for the Yangshuo Climbing Festival can be purchased on-line at www.ysclimbfest.com.cn or at Hong Kong Mountaineering Training Centre in Mong Kok, Hong Kong.
