Access Fund, RRGCC Acquire 300 Undeveloped Acres in Kentucky

6/3/13 - The Access Fund has acquired a 309-acre parcel of land in Beattyville, Kentucky, called the Miller Fork Recreational Preserve. Several miles of cliffs line the terrain; while some development has occurred, the majority of the rock is untouched. The Access Fund says there is potential for more than a dozen crags and hundreds of routes.

Located seven miles from the Pendergrass-Murray Recreational Preserve, Miller Fork will provide something exciting for both local and visiting climbers: a brand-new destination. The Access Fund provided a $10,000 grant and a $200,000 loan from its Land Conservation Campaign, and together with the Red River Gorge Climbers' Coalition $35,000 contribution, purchased the property. The RRGCC will own and manage this property
