I am extremely excited that Movement Climbing + Fitness is re-rolling the American ball of hosting lead World Cups. Not only will the comp be an absolute blast to compete in with the support of the home crowd. but the presence of the world’s best competitive sport climbers will both bring out the best in the U.S. Team and motivate its members to compete internationally more consistently. Additionally, seeing climbers like Ramonet crushing up close and personal will unquestionably inspire the young guns in the crowd for our future team. Hopefully, this comp will initiate a string of U.S.-hosted World Cups by gyms across the country as developing gyms see what is required to host a World Cup and build walls capable of getting even Sasha DiGiulian pumped. For training, I have been exploring some of Spain’s best tufa and power endurance lines for the last several weeks. Although this likely isn’t the best approach for an indoor comp one aspect of the trip will certainly be running through my mind as I'm falling off of Steve Hong’s resting holds… A MUERTE!!!

Editor's note: Ben recently sent Chris Sharma's route Era Bella (5.14d) in Margalef, Spain. Read about it here!
