Situated at the Second Meat wall, Matt Lisenby climbed the first, 100-foot, 5.12 pitch in 2004, but the second pitch (130 feet) hadn’t been freed until Earle’s ascent.

"The marathon pitch culminates with a wicked left-leaning, narrowing finger splitter," Earle says on his blog. "The featureless left wall further increases the desperate nature of the climb, forcing you to smear your left foot above your waist."

Earle fell off the last move three consecutive times before "finally sketching [his] way to the top."

See Earle’s blog for more photos of the ascent.
