Hot Flashes News Sharma Sends Neanderthal (5.15)
12/20/09 - Chris Sharma, reportedly super-close to completing his long-term project First Round, First Minute at Margalef, Spain, got snowed out of that crag and traveled to Santa Linya, where he proceeded to redpoint another mega-project: Neanderthal (tentatively given 9b/5.15b).

12/02/09 - Stevie Haston flashed the granite roof crack Greenspit in northern Italy, first climbed by Didier Berthod and repeated a couple of times since. The route had been rated 5.14a.

10/30/09 - French alpinists Yannick Graziani and Christian Trommsdorff have climbed the south spur of 7,140-meter (23,425-foot) Nemjung in Nepal.

10/26/09 - Adam Ondra, the 16-year-old from the Czech Republic, has completed his hardest route yet, and it was a first ascent: Marina Superstar (9a+/b, or 5.15a/b) at the Domusnovas area in southern Sardinia, Italy.
 
Englekirk Fires Two Valley V 5.13s in a Week
10/26/09 - Between October 16 – 21, Englekirk redpointed Leaning Tower’s Westie Face (V 5.13a/b AO, 9 pitches) after five attempts spread over three months and Washington Column’s Quantum Mechanic (V 5.13a, 15 pitches) on his second attempt; his first attempt was on October 18.
