Another 5.14c Onsight for Ondra

By Amanda Fox

7/14/11 - While it may not be personally noteworthy for Adam Ondra anymore, we're still impressed with his onsighting skills. The young Czech has onsighted l'Avaro (5.14c) at Tetto di Sarre, marking Italy's first 5.14c onsight.

Since Ondra (surprisingly) didn't make finals at the recent Lead World Cup in Chamonix, he apparently had extra time on his hands, stopping at Tetto de Sarre on his way to Arco, Italy, for the World Championships. l'Avaro is his sixth 5.14c onsight in 2011.

Italian Alberto Gnerro established the route in 1996 and has been repeated by the likes of Germans Andreas and Christian Bindhammer and Italian Giuseppe Nolasco. Below, a video of Nolasco climbing l'Avaro.

Date of ascent: July 13, 2011
