For the second year in a row, Jimmy Webb, a Chattanooga, TN, transplant finished first overall in the Men’s Open at the Southeast’s one and only Triple Crown Bouldering Series held at the Stone Fort last weekend. Webb won all three of the events in 2009 but was closely followed by Brion Voges, who also lives in Chattanooga, and took second overall in the series, as well as each of the individual events. Jeremy Walton, who also recently moved nearby took third at the Stone Fort.

The Women’s Open field was closely matched at each event in 2009, but in the end another Chattanooga, TN, transplant, Kasia Pietras, took the overall win. Pietras, who finished third at the Stone Fort, managed to squeak past and break the six year winning streak of Kate McGinnis. McGinnis finished first in the Women’s Open at the Stone Fort; Alex Johnson who only attended only one event took second.

The Triple Crown Bouldering Series began at Hound Ears in Boone, NC on October 3rd then moved to Horse Pens-40 in Steele, AL on November 7th, and concluded at the Stone Fort in Chattanooga, TN (after a snow day) on December 6th.
