The search for American alpinists Charlie Fowler and Christine Boskoff in the Yunnan Province of China has ended. Fowler's body was discovered on December 27 at 17,388 feet in the Genyen region of China near an unnamed peak. Based on information gathered by the search team, it appears both Fowler and Boskoff were trying to establish a high basecamp on this peak, but were swept away by an avalanche.
Boskoff's remains are yet to be discovered. Due to dangerous conditions in the vicinity, the search has been called off, and will resume when weather stabilizes. For more information on the search for Fowler and Boskoff, visit fowlerboskoff.
