8/26/11 - Melissa Le Neve is ripping through boulders in Rocklands, South Africa, this season. In a span of two weeks, the French climber has completed an impressive 11 V9s or harder, including flashes of The Hatchling (V11) and An Amal Roof (V9). "Beautiful boulder," she said about The Hatchling. "My favorite in Rocklands!"

She also climbed Black Shadow (V12), on her first try of the session. "Awesome movement!" she said of the boulder.

She's done five V11s so far, including Pendragon, The Arch, and Nutsa, which she climbed the same day as Black Shadow. Nutsa was the first V12 to be established in Rocklands, but many consider it to have a slash grade.

Le Neve is perhaps best known to the American community as a renowned comp climber. The 22-year-old medaled in five Boulder World Cups in 2011 and is currently ranked fourth in bouldering.

Dates of ascents: August 2011
