Moon Rises Again

Dougald MacDonald

Still at it 15 years after he rose to the top of the climbing world, Ben Moon has made the third ascent of The Ace, a V13 gritstone boulder problem at Stanage, England. The problem, a sit start to The Joker (V11), was established by Jerry Moffatt in 2000 and had been repeated only once, by Scottish strongman Malcolm Smith. Moon, 38, established the world’s first 8c+ (5.14c), Hubble, in 1990.
