11/12/10 - News link: Austrian climber Bernhard "Berni" Schwaiger has proposed another V15: Whirlwind. Tucked away in the Austrian Alps, the problem features tiny crimps in a roof. After working the problem for more than two weeks, Schwaiger cranked through but fell on the last move. Snow then arrived, and the hike became an hour-long trek through knee-deep snow. Four days later, he managed the FA. Schwaiger adds this V15 to an already-impressive resume of climbs, including Bernd Zangerl's Memento (V16, second ascent), Pipe Dream (V15, FA), and Anam Cara (V15, second ascent). Date of ascent: October 2010 Sources: ukclimbing.com, schwaigerbrothers.com (German) MORE NEWS
