2006 Rockmaster Climbing Comp, Arco, Italy

This year, as a tradition since 1986, the world-renowned Rockmaster Climbing Comp will take place in Arco, Trentino, from September 1 through 3.  The strongest climbers from all over the vertical world, such as Jousune Bereziartu, Dave Graham, and Chris Sharma, will be present, to be honored for the past year’s accomplishments and/or compete. An awards ceremony slated for September 1 at the Casinò Municipale of Arco will honor the athlete who most distinguished him/herself at the crag, and the best competition climbers from the 2004-2005 season, as selected by various international climbing publications, including Climbing.

The weekend will proceed with the “Difficulty” climbing competition of the Rockmaster Trophy 2006, on Saturday at 2 p.m. for the onsight round, followed by the combined “Speed” comp at 8:30 p.m., and closing with the “Sint Roc Boulder Contest” women’s category at 10 p.m.. Plan to stay until Sunday to see the Rock Master “Difficulty” round at 9:30 a.m. and the “Sint Roc Bouldering Contest” men at 2 p.m..  The awards ceremony follows at 4:30 p.m., followed by the Rock Master Party at the“Caffè Conti d’Arco”.  Tickets go on sale Saturday at 1 p.m. and Sunday at 8:30 a.m..
