Frenchwoman Charlotte Durif has returned from a knee injury to top form, climbing two 5.14a routes very quickly last week. Durif, 16, sent one of the routes, Le mur des 6 clopes, at St. Léger, France, on her first redpoint attempt, and nearly did the same on Le Nabab, also at St. Léger, falling from the last hold on her first burn. She also redpointed two 5.13d climbs at St. Léger early last week. Then, over the weekend, she finished third in the French national bouldering championships.

Durif, the European sport-climbing champion in 2006, has already done five 5.14a routes and onsighted two 5.13d climbs.

Meanwhile, in the Red River Gorge of Kentucky, 18-year-old Andrea Szekeley has redpointed Omaha Beach (5.13d/14a) and White Man’s Shuffle (5.13d) in the past few days. Omaha Beach is the hardest route yet for the Hungarian-born student, now living in Maryland.
