Two of North America’s hardest traditional rock climbsboth Sonnie Trotter routes in Canadahave been repeated in the past few days. Ethan Pringle has made a rapid second ascent of The Path (5.14a R) at the Back of the Lake crag in Lake Louise, Alberta. According to Gripped.com, Pringle toproped the route only twice before sending. Trotter first redpointed the quartzite climb last year after pulling the bolts from an abandoned sport-climbing line. In Squamish, British Columbia, meanwhile, the Belgian all-arounder Nicolas Favresse has made the second ascent of the Cobra Crack (5.14), a long, extremely overhanging granite finger crack. Trotter completed the first ascent of the much-tried crack in the summer of 2006. More information and photos will be posted as they become available.
