Women’s Team Climbs Cerro Torre
By Dougald MacDonald

Two Slovenian women, Monika Kambic Mali and Tanja Grmovsek, have made the first all-female ascent of Cerro Torre, via the Compressor Route. The two women completed the route in three days, a week after a first attempt nearly got them to the top. Kambic Mali was injured by falling ice but escaped the mountain safely.

Last season, Kambic Mali made the first all-female ascent of Fitz Roy in Patagonia, climbing the Franco-Argentine Route with Tina Di Batista, also from Slovenia.
