6/20/13 - Finnish climber Nalle Hukkataival has made the second ascent of Daniel Woods' La Force Tranquille (V15) in Magic Wood, Switzerland. (Watch the video below.)

Woods established the problem in October 2011, describing the movement as "subtle... using small, slopey edges and poor feet out a 45-degree overhang." Hukkataival made quick work of La Force Tranquille, needing only three days to finish working out the moves. He had a moment of doubt when he broke a hold and fell on the "easy" topout, but he managed the ascent on his next try. "I think it's one of the best hard boulder problems out there," he said.

Two days earlier, Hukkataival finished another project that he called The Understanding. He first spied this highball on his first trip to Magic Wood in 2004, and until June 15, it rebuffed any ascents. "Going through the process of doubting if it's possible to standing on top of the boulder was a big thing for me, and it's hard to imagine a more perfect boulder problem," he said. According to planetmountain.com, it likely falls in the V15 range.

Date of ascent: June 15 & 17, 2013
