The Google Battle ContinuesThis is a special blog bulletin. As of 6:47pm MST, April 6, 2008, I have moved within striking distance of Other Justin in my quest for Google Battle dominance (see my inaugural climbing.com Pro Blog entry for more on the Google Battle).
Last week I found I’d moved from 8th to 3rd in the Google results for Justin Roth—now I’m 2nd. This may not seem like a big deal to folks with unorthodox names (my friend Susánica Tam has no problem holding on to her 1st place Google Battle title), but Justin Roth is a popular name and there’s a popular Justin Roth musician out there (I call him Other Justin) snapping up the hits.
So what’s the reason for my sudden advance in the Google Battle? Why, this very blog, of course. See the screen capture for yourself. I recommend Googling my name periodically to see where I stand. While you’re at it, Google yourself! It’s fun and easy. Good luck if share a name with James Brown, Hilllary Clinton, Subrahmanyan Chandrasekhar, or some other notable person—such Google battles are, in my opinion, un-winnable.
