A handy new solution: the GEARLOOPTOPO ($2.99 per route, gearlooptopo.com), a collection of laminated, 4”x6” cards detailing nearly 150 multi-pitch classics in the US and Canada. I used a GearLoopTopo on Lotta Balls, in Red Rock, Nevada, fi nding it full of useful info: an area map, full-color photo of the climb, approach/descent times and descriptions, and topos with pitch length, belay-comfort info, and other tidbits. Each card comes with a keeper cord, so you can clip and go.
