1/25/12 – Metolius, a brand synonymous with quality and innovation in rock climbing gear and hardware, continues its support of the Access Fund in 2012 with commemorative, co-branded chalk bags.

Metolius has been an Access Fund Corporate Partner since the non-profit’s inception in 1991, and has been working with the Fund to protect threatened climbing areas ever since. Over the years, Metolius and other outdoor industry brands have been instrumental in the success of Access Fund programs, including Adopt a Crag, TeamWorks, and the Access Fund Land Conservation Campaign.

Today, Metolius is proud to show its support of the Access Fund through this unique fundraising and branding opportunity. As an innovator of climbing equipment, Metolius was one of the first brands to offer gear specifically for bouldering, including chalk, chalk bags and pads. By partnering with the Access Fund, Metolius expands upon its commitment to produce quality and innovative climbing equipment, while supporting environmental preservation of threatened climbing areas for current and future generations.

As a group of climbers who are passionate about protecting and maintaining access to multi-recreational areas, Metolius identifies this program as an opportunity to leverage their brand to promote the importance of access to the American climbing community. Due to private land pressures, access is the single greatest challenge facing the climbing world and its vertical environments. “Metolius has been partnering with the Access Fund for many years,” said Brooke Sandahl, Vice President, Metolius Climbing. “It’s an honor to support their efforts with our chalk bags, and to help raise awareness of the Fund and its importance to the climbing community.”

The bags will be available at accessfund.org and online at metoliusclimbing.com for $22.50. The Access Fund will receive a portion of the proceeds from every sale of the co-oped chalk bags.
