1/4/11 - A new era is beginning in ice climbing: On January 8 and 9, the UIAA Ice Climbing World Cup season will get underway, with Lead and Speed competitions in Cheongsong, Korea—the first time the circuit makes a stop in Asia.

British Columbia Buys Malamute Land
10/1/10 – The Province of British Columbia’s announcement last week that it has acquired a ten hectare parcel of land at the base of the Malamute, a granite monolith adjacent to the Stawamus Chief Provincial Park near Squamish that contains over 60 climbing routes, is being heralded as an important victory for outdoor enthusiasts.
 
Sierra Designs Supports Resources for Rangers Program in Southern Kenya
9/29/10 – Sierra Designs is donating five Lightning XT 2 and Lightning XT 3 tents to help support Africa’s South Rift Game Scouts, a program that employs young, indigenous Maasai men to protect endangered wildlife and forests from poachers as well as illegal logging and charcoal operations.
