MadRock Introduces Crashpad That Saves Lives by Supporting Ovarian Cancer Research
11/08/07 - The latest addition to Mad Rock’s gear line is the HERA Pad, a bouldering crashpad that does more than cushion a rock climber’s fall—it also helps save women’s lives. 11/05/07 - Climb for Hope was organized to raise and channel funds towards targeted and promising research in the fight against breast cancer. Our mission is to find a viable treatment for breast cancer by 2009. 11/05/07 - Zensah®, a company that produces seamless, antibacterial performance sports apparel, joins the fight against ovarian cancer by donating 10 percent of the proceeds from the sale of its teal women’s beanie and teal women’s arm sleeves to the HERA Women’s Cancer Foundation. 10/29/07 - SALT LAKE CITY — It takes passion and perseverance to become a skilled rock climber, and The Front Climbing Club is showing this same dedication in its efforts to help protect and preserve the environment. 10/23/07 - By joining forces in the Red River Gorge for this year’s annual Rocktoberfest fundraiser and climber’s festival, Petzl and the RRGCC raised over $32,000, more than tripling the initial goal of raising up to $10,000 for the RRGCC, and rendering a ten-fold increase over the event’s earnings in 2006. 10/23/07 - PETZL USA received the 2007 HERA Power of One Award during the recent HERA Climb4Life in Salt Lake City. 10/22/07 - Four young, British people are being given the once in a lifetime opportunity to join a cultural learning expedition in the deserts of Oman for FREE (all costs including flights, accommodation and food are covered except for insurance, visas and personal equipment which is not expected to exceed £100.) 10/19/07 - Tuolumne Meadows, Yosemite National Park — Climbing legend TM Herbert was on hand to celebrate Rick Stockwell’s 60th birthday party in Tuolumne Meadows July 21st. 10/18/07 - Both times Bob Summer has battled cancer, once in 1981 and again in 2004, children undergoing tests, surgeries, and treatments made a lasting impression on him. 10/15/07 - Outdoor clothing manufacturer Patagonia announced today that it will open a retail store in a historic building in Boulder, Colorado’s downtown pedestrian Pearl Street Mall next spring. 10/09/07 - On November 5th and 6th, join us at Adrenaline Climbing Gym in Atlanta, GA! This is specific to the Sarken model only -- no other Petzl Charlet crampons are affected. 9/10/07 - Telluride, Colorado will be the site of a confluence of leading experts from around the world who will share insights and solutions to the global fresh water crisis as the Moving Mountains Symposium on Water kicks off the 30th Annual Telluride Mountainfilm next May. 8/27/07 - Bozeman, Montana - The Hans Saari Memorial Fund (HSMF), a grant-giving organization established to honor the life and values of ski-mountaineer Hans Saari, has announced the launch of its Ski Exploration Grant program. 8/27/07 - Greg Mortenson is the founder of nonprofit Central Asia Institute www.ikat.org, Pennies For Peace www.penniesforpeace.org, and co-author of New York Times bestseller ‘Three Cups of Tea’ www.threecupsoftea.com (NY Times nonfiction paperback top ten for 14 weeks since February 2007). 8/23/07 - The British Schools Exploring Society (BSES Expeditions) is calling for budding young explorers to join a five week expedition to the Indian Himalaya region of Ladakh in July 2008. 8/14/07 - This year to raise funds for trail work and other climbing related projects in Eldorado Canyon State Park, ACE, the Action Committee for Eldorado, is hosting the 15th annual Celebrate Eldorado event. ACE has assembled an amazing collection of rare signed prints of Eldorado climbs.
