PETZL USA Receives HERA Power of One Award

This is specific to the Sarken model only -- no other Petzl Charlet crampons are affected. 9/10/07 - Telluride, Colorado will be the site of a confluence of leading experts from around the world who will share insights and solutions to the global fresh water crisis as the Moving Mountains Symposium on Water kicks off the 30th Annual Telluride Mountainfilm next May. 8/27/07 - Bozeman, Montana - The Hans Saari Memorial Fund (HSMF), a grant-giving organization established to honor the life and values of ski-mountaineer Hans Saari, has announced the launch of its Ski Exploration Grant program. 8/27/07 - Greg Mortenson is the founder of nonprofit Central Asia Institute www.ikat.org, Pennies For Peace www.penniesforpeace.org, and co-author of New York Times bestseller ‘Three Cups of Tea’ www.threecupsoftea.com (NY Times nonfiction paperback top ten for 14 weeks since February 2007). 8/23/07 - The British Schools Exploring Society (BSES Expeditions) is calling for budding young explorers to join a five week expedition to the Indian Himalaya region of Ladakh in July 2008. 8/14/07 - This year to raise funds for trail work and other climbing related projects in Eldorado Canyon State Park, ACE, the Action Committee for Eldorado, is hosting the 15th annual Celebrate Eldorado event. ACE has assembled an amazing collection of rare signed prints of Eldorado climbs. August 8, 2007 - New York, NY and Boulder, CO - Skram Media, publishers of CLIMBING and URBAN CLIMBER Magazines, today announced plans to purchase carbon offsets to dramatically reduce the environmental impact of their business. 7/31/07 - Join, The North Face athlete, Heidi Wirtz as she takes you on a journey of exploration and adventure into the Islamic World of North Africa, Southern Asia and the Middle East. 7/25/07 - An eight-member team of American Alpine Club representatives was set to depart for Islamabad, Pakistan today for the much anticipated Pakistani Women's Climbing Camp. The main goal of the Camp – a collaborative project of the Alpine Club of Pakistan and the American Alpine Club – was to introduce Pakistani women to climbing and mountaineering in a socially acceptable manner. 7/23/07 - Please join us at the Spot for beer, food, slide show, raffle and a chance to pay our respects to an amazing person and a fellow climber. Thursday, July 26, 2007 8:00 p.m. Michael Reardon was in Ireland when a rogue wave tragically took him from us on Friday, July 13, 2007. His memory will live on with his family and the climbing community. This is a Fund Raiser for Michael Reardon's family. A donation of $10.00 will get you in. 6/20/07 - On September 22 and 23, thousands of Americans are expected to climb mountains, hills and even stairs as part of the first-ever “Climb Up So Kids Can Grow Up” fundraiser. 6/12/07 - Disabled veterans from both Afghanistan and Iraq will be participating in the Front Range’s first HERA Foundation Climb4Life event this summer. 6/11/07 - The American Alpine Club pledged this week to match up to $2,500 in donations toward the Pakistani Women's Climbing Camp, as a show of support for the project and to encourage further donations. 5/29/07 - Dieckhoff has been in Boulder since 1979, and just about everyone knows him, but at present he is battling lymphoma, with dwindling funds and no health insurance (ongoing difficulties with a congenital hip defect and eventual hip replacement priced him out of being able to afford a policy). 5/22/07 - North Face athlete Heidi Wirtz and Trango athlete and AMGA guide Majka Burhardt support ovarian cancer through volunteer works with the HERA Foundation. 5/22/07 - Ovarian cancer survivor and rock climber Eden Ellman gets her employer and friends at the Boulder Rock Club involved with the Front Range’s first HERA Foundation Climb4Life event, a fun, climbing focused event that raises money and awareness for ovarian cancer. 5/22/07 - Local companies CAMP-USA and Great Trango Holdings develop products to raise awareness for the HERA Foundation, a Carbondale-based nonprofit that raises money and awareness for ovarian cancer research. |
