Mugs Stump Award Winners Announced for 2004
3/03/04 - Given annually to climbers attempting alpine climbing objectives that exemplify fast, light and clean tactics, the awards are a tribute to the late Mugs Stump, one of North America’s most prolific and visionary climbers, who died in a crevasse fall in Alaska in May 1992. 2/20/04 - Climbing Magazine’s Photo Editor, Zach Reynolds, and Editor, Jeff Achey will host a clinic on bouldering photography. 2/12/04 - The world’s largest outdoor climbing competition and festival is April 23 – 25, 2004 at Oak Flats Campground east of Phoenix Arizona. 11/18/03 - Carbondale, Colorado: Climbing Magazine is pleased to announce the promotion of Greg Williams to Advertising Director. 10/28/03 - At the October Access Fund board meeting, the following awards were given to volunteers who have devoted countless hours to preserving climbing access in America. 10/09/03 - Carbondale, Colorado: The American Bouldering Series 5 (ABS5), the world’s largest climbing competition series and grassroots event, gets underway this month with competitions at gyms across the country. 9/17/03 – Carbondale, Colorado. Climbing Magazine in conjunction with Avery Brewing Company once again is presenting the Rifle Mountain Park Climber Clean–Up, starting at 9:00 am on Saturday, August 23. 7/23/03 - Carbondale, CO CLIMBING Magazine is pleased to announce the appointment of Jeff Achey as Editor. 6/02/03 - "On the big screen; that's the way climbing films should be seen," said Ivan Greene, who flew out to Salt Lake City from New York for the premier of “The Road,” as presented by Climbing Magazine. 5/23/03 - Carbondale, Colo. Climbing Magazine is pleased to announce the hiring of John Viehman as the new Publisher. 5/21/03 - The first annual New River Gorge Climbers Rendezvous, put on by the New River Alliance of Climbers (NRAC), went off without a hitch on May 16 through 18, despite weather that turned sour on Saturday morning and stayed wet for the duration. 5/19/03 - The Mugs Stump Award has announced the recipients of the $15,000 total to be given out this year. 5/19/03 - The entire issue is devoted to showcasing the best photographers and most outrageous photographs in the sport of climbing.
