American climbing legends Steve House and Lynn Hill at the International Mountain Summit in South Tyrol, Italy

Two of the US' most famous climbers, Steve House and Lynn Hill, have confirmed their presence at the International Mountain Summit® (IMS®) in the Italian town of Bressanone/Brixen. From November 3-8, 2009, the special event dedicated to mountain sports enthusiasts will offer a unique chance to share the legends' experiences in a number of talks, presentations and even hikes.

"With the International Mountain Summit® we have successfully created a unique summit event", commented the project organisers Markus Gaiser and Alex Ploner. "Lynn Hill and Steve House are a must on our list of top mountaineers like Reinhold Messner, Hans Kammerlander, Peter Habeler and Sir Chris Bonington. They will contribute to our aim of taking mountain fans home to their passion - the mountain - and at the same time create a link between tradition, history and the future."
