Feeding Flexibility: prAna Teams Up with Om Time Yoga to Sponsor “Feed our Friends” Food Drive

BOULDER, Colo. – April 25, 2008 – prAna, a leading outdoor and active lifestyle apparel manufacturer, has teamed up with Om Time Yoga to sponsor Boulder’s first annual Feed Our Friends food drive. From April 13 through 27, customers are encouraged to bring bags of food to Om Time Yoga or the prAna flagship store in exchange for yoga classes on April 26 and 27. All food will be donated to Boulder’s Community Food Share initiative.
 
“We hope to raise thousands of pounds of food, while raising levels of awareness for Boulder’s Community Food Share,” says prAna store manager Kathryn Guay. “In feeding the soul, yoga is now feeding the bellies of Boulder’s less fortunate individuals.”
 
It is estimated that Boulder and Broomfield Counties have over 40,000 residents living in poverty—enough people to fill up Folsom Field. Feed Our Friends is part of Community Food Share’s commitment to raising awareness for a hunger-free future. Community Food Share draws from 63 member agencies to efficiently deliver more than four million nutritionally-balanced meals each year, while serving as a safety net for those who are hungry in Boulder.
 
Yoga classes will be held at Om Time Yoga and prAna in exchange for donations of canned and non-perishable food only. Classes of 25-40 will run all day on a first-come, first-serve basis with many of Boulder’s most-beloved teachers. Om Time Yoga is located four doors down from prAna at 2035 Broadway and the prAna store is located at 1147 Pearl Street.
