extensive indoor climbing gym experience
an understanding of our unique niche in the climbing world
in-depth understanding/experience with climbing coaching, training, & curriculum
highly evolved knowledge/practice of institutional climbing systems
formal risk management training & experience
excellent project management skills & love of systems
guru communications skills & sage-like patience
a love and respect for what The Spot’s “bread & butter” is with a hunger to provide some “flashy & fun” programs too
business savvy
Specifically the Program Director will:
Ensure profitability of individual programs through careful analysis of costs and revenues. Manage budgets and strategic growth of the business
Serve as Human Resources Manager for the Climbing School including: staffing, hiring, training, & evaluating instructors, guides, and climbing coaches while providing ongoing growth & development opportunities
Orchestrate the flow of the Assistant Program Director, Head Coach, Head Guide, and stable of instructors/guides
Manage and screen participant enrollment in indoor and outdoor programs
Collaborate with the Marketing Department to promote enrollment in programs
Serve as Chief Risk Manager for the Spot Climbing (including writing policy and procedures for operations)
Secure permits for operation of outdoor programs

Position Terms
Applicant must be willing to commit a full year (minimum) to this position

Pay $12-18/hr (rate dependent upon experience, salary terms negotiable)
