7/12/14 - The British boulderer Shauna Coxsey has done New Base Line(8B+/V14) in Magic Wood, Switzerland, making her the third female to climb the grade. Put up in 2002 by Bernd Zangerl, the problem originally was given V15 but later downgraded. "Psyched doesn't come close," Coxsey posted on her Facebook and Instagram feeds.

Coxsey, the runner-up for this year's World Cup bouldering overall title, had previously done three 8B/V13 problems, in Colorado, Spain, and at Magic Wood.

The Japanese boulderer Tomoko Ogawa was the first woman to boulder V14, in October 2012. Just two days ago, Ashima Shiraishi, 13, became the second female at this grade, sending Golden Shadow in Rocklands, South Africa.

Date of ascent: July 12, 2014
