This year, teamed with Sportrock Climbing Center, Earthtreks Gym, and REI, the event raised $59,000 for ovarian cancer research and awareness initiatives.“The community of climbers throughout the DC area is impressive and next year will be no different,” says Lillian Chao-Quinlan, President of Sportrock Climbing Centers. Goals for next years? “We aim to bring out 400+ participants next year raising over $75,000, no problem!” In addition to the Climb4Life event, Piola’s restaurant hosted the second annual Freinds4Life to benefit the HERA Foundation. “The event was another smashing success this year,” says Christopher Lau, event manager. “We're jazzed about the growing success and will continue to be creative about how the event supports the HERA Foundation and how to educate participants on the early symptoms of ovarian cancer.”The HERA Foundation hosts climbing, running, and trekking events to raise research funds and awareness for ovarian cancer.
