			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>10/20/12 &#8211; The Japanese climber Tomoko Ogawa has climbed <em>Catharsis</em> (V14) at Shiobara, completing a three-year effort. The 34-year-old becomes the first woman in the world to boulder a confirmed V14.</p>
<p>The problem, with about 15 moves across a big roof, was established in 2005 by the great Japanese boulderer Dai Koyamada, and was repeated by Daniel Woods.</p>
<p>At least five women have bouldered V13, including Americans <a href="/climber/legends-angie-payne/" class="aim-internal-link">Angie Payne</a> and Ashima Shiraishi. Ogawa had previously climbed two V12 problems in Japan.</p>
