U.S. Sends Five to Finals in World Youth Championship

8/19/13 - Five members of the U.S. team have made finals in the World Youth Championship, which wraps up tonight at the Boulders Climbing Gym in British Columbia, Canada.

Kai Lightner was the only competitor to flash a semifinal route, and the 13-year-old enters the finals in top position in the Male Youth B age category. Sean Bailey finished third in the semis in Male Youth A.

Margo Hayes, second in the semifinals, and Claire Buhrfeind both will compete in finals in the Female Youth B category. Delaney Miller made finals in the Female Juniors group.

The finals begin at 4:30 p.m., Pacific time, and can be watched live at Ifsc-climbing.org.
