On July 19th and 20th in Riverside, California, Pro Setter Chris Danielson will instruct a USA Climbing Level 1 Routesetting Clinic at an incredible new gym in So Cal – Hangar 18 Riverside! Chris Danielson, e-Grips Pro Setter, Climbing Wall Consultant and Rep, and USAC National Setting Team verteran will be instructing.
The new gym, Hangar 18’s second facility, will be one of So Cal’s biggest gyms with an incredible wall design and construction by the guy who wrote the book on coursesetting –Louie Anderson. Louie will be on-site for the clinic as well, and it should be a great gathering of routesetters from all over the US coming together to learn some new skills, techniques for efficient commercial setting and basic competition organization, and a chance to work with others to set routes with thousands of brand new holds at this outstanding facility. Whether you have been setting for a decade or are looking to learn, this is a unique opportunity to focus on the creation of movement on artificial climbing walls, learn from experienced professionals, and gather knowledge from others in the field.
The Clinic will be held July 19th and 20th at Hangar 18 Riverside (close to the Ontario airport) and there will likely be an additional session on Monday and Tuesday, July 21st and 22nd if the first session gets maxed out in attendance or there are a great number of people who would prefer the weekday option. For those who may be attending the SCS Youth Nationals up in the bay area, this clinic is just the weekend after – so it’s a great opportunity to attend both events and enjoy summertime in California!
The full two-day clinic is open to anyone interested in learning about setting or improving their skill set, and precedence is given to those with commercial setting experience and climbing background (6 months setting experience and/or ability to work 5.10/V3). The clinic fee is only $100, and a USA Climbing Routesetter Annual Membership ($39) is also required (You may sign up for the Routesetter Membership at www.usaclimbing.org anytime). A USAC Level 1 Routesetting Certification will be given to all participants upon satisfactory completion of the clinic.
Improve the quality and professionalism of your routesetting and give a boost to your climbing wall operations. If you own, manage, or operate a facility offering indoor climbing, please consider sending your routesetter(s) to this clinic. For more information, questions, and to register (spots will go fast) please contact Chris directly at firstname.lastname@example.org or 585.750.5062.
