8/5/10 – The United Bouldering Championship’s 2010 tour has completed its second of three stops at the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market in Salt Lake City. Pros from around the United States battled it out on August 3, vying for the grand prize of $10,000.

At 2010′s first UBC comp held in late April at Earth Treks, Chris Sharma and Alex Puccio took top honors.

This week, the results were only a little different. Puccio once again dominated the women’s group, taking home the $10,000 purse. It was Daniel Woods, however, who took the men’s gold (he also won last year in SLC), while Sharma settled into fourth place.

This is the fourth year NE2C Productions has held an event at the OR Summer Trade Show (the comp was formerly the Mammut Bouldering Championships), but only two women and two men have ever taken the title there: Alex Johnson and Alex Puccio, and Chris Sharma and Daniel Woods. The nation will have to wait until next year to see if the cycle gets broken.

Men’s Final Results:

The next UBC stop is the Nor’easter, September 24 and 25 in Lincoln, New Hampshire.
