Climbers Camilo Lopez and Anna Pfaff captured footage of their ascent of Aguja Guillaumet in Patagonia, located above the Rio Electrico valley and south of Fitz Roy. The pair experienced a successful trip, managing to traverse six peaks above 5,000 meters in the northern Andes.
Sky Dive into Baffin Island

Follow world-class climbers Leo Houlding and Sean Leary as they sky dive into Baffin Island, Canada, to pursue Houlding's ambitious goal to make the first free ascent of Mt. Asgard's north face. Regarded as one of the most famous of the Baffin Mountains, and possibly one of the most difficult big walls in the world, the team planned to make a wingsuit descent from the summit. 5.13+ Barefoot Free Solo
Photos and video by Djamila Proft / dustinthewind1973 - Andreas Proft barefoot free solos the 25 meter Excess Power, a 8a+ or 5.13c ex-trad route, that's now a fully bolted sport route, in Costa Blanca's Echo Valley, Spain. In an email Proft commented that "It took me many tries to get comfy enough [on the route] and cost me some sleep as well." The 36-year-old German has sent a number of other hard 5.13 routes all without rockshoes. See Footloose and Fancy Free for more about Proft's barefoot endeavors.
The Groove - PROGRESSION
Video by Big UP Productions - An excerpt from the recent film PROGRESSION that features Kevin Jorgeson on the second ascent of one of England's hardest traditional routes, The Groove (E11) at Cratcliffe. James Pearson finally climbed the bold and technical route, which was considered before his ascent on Saturday, February 2, 2008, to be “last great problems” of English gritstone. Pearson had occasionally attempted the route over a four year period. Later that year [2008] in October and November, Americans Alex Honnold and Kevin Jorgeson astonished British climbers with rapid repeats of some of the testiest routes on “God’s own rock,” the English gritstone.

Daniel already had a reputation as a steel fingered bouldering phenomena, and watching him crush in the boulders was about as close as I've come to witnessing the defiance of gravity. When Daniel mentioned on a facebook post that he had a new super project up in Boulder Canyon, and felt he might be close to "the hardest moves I've ever tried", I figured it might be a cool moment to film and so I rang him up!

I want to dedicate this few years to competitions, and achive as many tops and good results."

Chris Sharma: The Legacy Continues

TAWOCHE 2k10 Dispatches
Videos by Renan Ozturk / Verticalcarnival.blogspot.com - Renan Ozturk and Cory Richards overcame loose rock and dehydration to complete the first ascent of the central south buttress of Tawoche, a circa 6,500-meter (21,325') peak in the Khumbu region of Nepal. The two men spent two and a half days on the route, followed by another day and a half of descent. Ozturk, based in Boulder, Colo., and Richards, out of Canmore, Alberta, said the line was 1,200 meters high and graded ED2 VI 5.10 M4/5.
Vortex (V10), Sassafras Knob, North Carolina

It was first discovered by Zach Lesch-Huie but was first climbed with the collaborative effects of Pat Goodman and Pat Stone. Vortex stands at an intimidating 17 feet tall and is given the grade of V10. Shown in this video comp crusher Alex Johnson, plus North Carolinians Pat Goodman and Jessa Goebel get sucked into the magical, mystical Vortex.
A Portrait of Fred Nicole

His prolific tick list spans decades and the world, ranging from V13 to the almost supernatural grade of V16. Fred was the first to boulder V13 and also V14, although he does not assign grades to his own problems, relying on consensus from other climbers. Fred sees climbing as an art form, where a person can express ones self through movement.
Paul Robinson: Inside The Climbers Guild

Dave Graham on The Island (V15) from The Players

The Island climbs directly out a sandstone roof/prow in the Coquibus Rumont area, between the existing problems Sérénité (V8) and Conviction (V11). Graham sent the problem after three days of work, and he described it at 8a.nu as having “huge moves in between slopers, and always at my full extension, so very intense climbing.” Shown in this video is Graham on the first ascent of his Font test piece The Island, an excerpt from our feature length film "The Players".
