2008 Golden Piton Award Ceremony at Outdoor Retailer

Photos by Andy Mann — Climbing Magazine and Marmot held an awards ceremony January 24, to celebrate the recipients of the 2007 Golden Piton Awards. The event, held at the Marmot Booth at Outdoor Retailer Winter Market in Salt Lake City, was a big hit, pulling in climbing fans with ashort film showcasing the winners, and free beer and Marmot/Golden Pitonpint glasses. The presenters were Kevin Riley, of Skram Media, and Matt Samet, editor at Climbing. A special thanks to Marmot, Brian Solano, and to Andy Mann, for taking these shots, as well as all the photographers who donated their images of the winners for the event.

Alex Honnold, Rookie of the Year, picks up his Golden Piton. Climbing Magazine and Marmot co-sponsored the event at the Outdoor Industry Trade Show on January 24, at the Marmot Boot in the Salt Palace, Salt Lake City. Attendees enjoyed free beer and some commemorative pint glasses, thanks to Marmot.
