Photos by Georg Lenz / www.lenzfoto.de - Bouldering naturally offers better working (shooting) conditions compared to roped climbing, but the German photographer Georg Lenz also enjoys that too. Shown here is a collection of problems (and climbers) from the European boulderfields of: Laurenzofels, near Alsace, France; Pfalz, near Heidelberg and Karlsruhe, Germany; Magic Wood, near Averstal, Switzerland; and Ticino in the Verzasca Valley, Switzerland.
Bouldering. Magic Wood in Averstal, Switzerland. And indeed it is an enchanted forest on the steep alpine Mountainsides, but sometimes it seems to be a hostile dark spell. Especially when your trying to find your way between moss covered blocks and knobby trees with two Crashpads and a Camerabag on you back. There is no path and branches are entangling the heavy burden on your shoulders forcing you in the wrong direction. With sweat in the eyes you realize, we must have been running in circles. This forest is evil. Beautiful but nontheless a deadly trap! But later on you'll be convinced of a better, the problems are brilliant and moderatly graded, just sometimes a little hard to find! This is Fight Club Fb 7c and it's stunning finishing Dyno performed by Marc Stellbogen. Photo by George Lenz / www.lenzfoto.de
